AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries are the most modern version of the lead-acid battery. The electrolyte in these batteries is bound in a fiberglass mat.

This results in low self-discharge, meaning that recharging is only necessary every six months if the battery is not stored above 20°C.

In addition, AGM batteries are tip-proof and leak-proof and can be installed in virtually any position, which is especially advantageous for motorcycles.

Another advantage: unlike gel, fleece impedes the flow of ions much less. This means that AGM batteries can be charged more quickly with a higher current than gel batteries and, due to their lower internal resistance, can supply correspondingly higher amounts of current to the consumer if necessary.
